The MAN 48/60B Lube Oil Automatic Filter (FIL-001) is an automatic back-washing filter installed as the main lube-oil filter of MAN 48/60B marine engines. State-of-the-art automatic filters of this type are recommended to be equipped with an integrated second filtration stage, protecting the engine from particles that may pass the first stage in case of malfunction. The filter is fitted with differential pressure gauges to indicate clogging condition. If the first filter stage is not functioning sufficiently, the engine may run in emergency operation for a maximum of 72 hours using the second filter stage before it must be stopped.
