Filtration of heavy fuel oil (HFO) within the fuel oil system of the Wärtsilä 32 marine engine. The safety filter is a full-flow duplex filter with steel net and should be installed as close as possible to the engine. The documented filter fineness is 37 µm absolute. At 14 cSt fuel viscosity, the maximum permitted pressure drop is 20 kPa (0.2 bar) for a clean filter and 80 kPa (0.8 bar) at alarm level.
