Application Notes

The fine filter (1F05) must be installed as near the engine as possible, as described in Section 6.4.2 of the Wärtsilä 50DF Product Guide (2/2010). Wärtsilä specifies a fineness of 37 µm (absolute mesh size) and a design pressure of 1.6 MPa (16 bar). The maximum pressure drop at 14 cSt is 20 kPa for a clean filter and 80 kPa at alarm.

Additional Notes

Wärtsilä identifies the 1F05 fuel oil fine filter as a full flow duplex type filter with steel net, to be installed as near the engine as possible. It appears in both the MDF installation (Fig. 6.10) and the HFO installation (Fig. 6.11) of the Wärtsilä 50DF Product Guide. No OEM part number is specified for the fine filter in the reviewed documentation.

The Wärtsilä 50DF Fuel Oil Fine Filter (1F05) is a fine filter in the fuel oil system of Wärtsilä 50DF marine engines. Wärtsilä specifies it as a full flow duplex type filter with steel net, with a fineness of 37 µm (absolute mesh size). It is identified in Fig. 6.10 (MDF installation) and Fig. 6.11 (HFO installation) of the Wärtsilä 50DF Product Guide.

The filter must be installed as near the engine as possible. It has a design pressure of 1.6 MPa (16 bar) and a design temperature of 50°C. The maximum permitted pressure drop at 14 cSt is 20 kPa for a clean filter and 80 kPa at alarm.
